How Do Solar Panels Work

Chances are you have probably heard of solar panels, but what exactly does that mean? More importantly how does it work? In short they converts energy from the sun into usable electricity, and then uses a feed in tariff to transport that new energy.

Photovoltaics, or PV are the scientific term for solar panels. The PV panel would be placed somewhere that gets a lot of direct sunlight to maximize it's use. The panel itself just sits there, collecting the energy that emits down on it.

Many people are don't understand exactly what happens after the energy is collect. This is where the feed in tariffs, or a "FiT" come into play. The FiT feeds the energy to a larger power plant. The plant would in term would pay the owner for any renewable energy that was produced from their panels.
